Tips for Success

Let the cream cheese and whipped topping come to room temperature. No one wants to bite into a piece of cream cheese or whipped topping. This is why it’s important that you allow the cream cheese and whipped topping to become soft. If you are short on time, you can soften them in the microwave. (Some microwaves have presets that allow you to choose the type of food you want to reheat or thaw out.)

Prep fruit ahead of time. This dip only takes about 5 minutes to come together once everything is ready to be whipped. Which means that the dip is the easiest part of the whole thing! Whether you are going to a party and need to transport the dip, or are serving it at your home, make sure you give yourself time to prep the fruit. Wash the berries, cut the grapes into small bunches and cube the melon, then keep it in the fridge. Cold fruit and this dip are exactly what everyone will be excited to eat, especially on a hot day.

When in doubt, beat it more. Not sure if the cream cheese is smooth enough? Whip it more! Think you see small bits of whipped topping that haven’t quite combined? Beat it more! If you have given your cream cheese and whipped topping enough time to thaw, you will spend less time beating everything together.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use reduced fat cream cheese and/or yogurt?

Using reduced fat cream cheese and/or yogurt will affect the overall taste and texture. But if it makes you feel better to use the low fat version of these ingredients, then feel free to do so.

Can I use a different kind of yogurt?

Yes, you can swap out the strawberry yogurt for a different flavor if you’d like. Vanilla would be super simple and wouldn’t affect the texture. Other yogurt flavors may have larger bits of fruit in them which would change the flavor and texture.

Can I make the yogurt dip ahead of time?

Absolutely. You can make this dip up to 1 day ahead of time. Just make sure to store it covered in the fridge.

How should I store the yogurt dip?

To preserve the flavor and texture, you should store the yogurt dip in the fridge in a covered container. It is good for 3-4 days, but may lose some of the fluffiness.
