Looking for where to buy souvenirs on Kauai? Check out this list of 5 great options around the island.

Anytime you go on vacation, it’s fun to bring back something for yourself to remember your time there. When my husband and I visited Kauai in 2019, we spent most of our time hiking, exploring and eating delicious food. We didn’t go to a lot of different places to search for souvenirs, but found a few places that I think are worth mentioning:
Walmart
Location: Lihue
Souvenirs you can find there:
- Generic Souvenirs: If you want something simple like a hat or a toy that has Kauai or Hawaii on it, there is a section just past McDonald’s inside the store that has an area marked ‘Souvenirs’.
- Kids Hawaiian Shirts and Dresses: We found Hawaiian style dresses for girls and boys Hawaiian shirts in the regular clothing section for around $15 each. *TIP* Make sure to check the tags to see if the clothes were actually made in Hawaii or were made and imported from somewhere else if you are looking for something more authentic.
- Macadamia Nuts: In the candy aisle you can find a large area devoted to all types of macadamia nut goodies. The boxes of macadamia nut chocolates ranged from about $5-15. (If you’ve bought macadamia nut chocolate boxes on the mainland, you know they are a lot more expensive.)
What we bought: Kids Hawaiian Dresses and Shirts, Boxes of Macadamia Nut Chocolates

Costco
Location: Lihue
As with any Costco, the items and availability vary. However, being on an island that is a tourist destination, you can pretty much guarantee that Costco will have some of the same types of souvenirs.
Souvenirs you can find here:
- Mens Hawaiian Shirts: There was a giant rack of mens Hawaiian shirts in the clothing section of the store. They also had some cool mens t-shirts from the Local Motion brand that appealed more to my husband.
- Swimsuits: They had both mens and womens swimsuits available.
- Flip Flops: Forget your flip flops? Costco has you covered.
What we bought: Mens Short Sleeve Shirts and Swim Trunks

ABC Store
Locations: Kapa’a and Lihue
This is like a convenience store/souvenir shop. The items were more generic but they had a decent variety. Beware of the smaller stuff, especially kid items, that seemed overpriced.
Souvenirs you can find here:
- Clothing
- Hats
- Jewelry
- Knick-Knacks
What we bought: Womens Short Sleeve Shirts, Carved Wood Bookmark

Vendor Stalls by Spouting Horn
Location: Koloa
I saw some of the same items there as I did at ABC Store for less. The vendors there are often willing to lower the price or bundle items in order to get you to buy.
Souvenirs you can find here:
- Sterling Silver Jewelry
- Purses/Bags
- Ukuleles
- Wooden Wind Chimes
- Wood Boxes
- Vases
- Dolls
- Small Knick Knacks
What we bought: Ukulele, Coconut Bead Purse, Fabric Zippered Crossbody Bag

Island Soap and Candle Works
Locations: Kilauea
We stayed at a B&B our last night in Kauai and there was a card for a free soap from here with any purchase. The B&B had the shampoo, conditioner and hand soap from here and we loved how it all smelled. All the items they sell are handmade in store or by local artisans from the island. I noticed that the sets seemed to actually be more expensive than if you were to buy the same thing as single items so watch for that when you go.
Souvenirs you can find here:
- Soap
- Candles
- Lotion
- Knick-Knacks
What we bought: Coconut Bar Soap, Passion Fruit Lotion

I hope you have a great time on your visit to Kauai and that you’ll be able to buy souvenirs on Kauai that will remind you of your visit! Let me know if you find anything at the places in this list.
