My older two kids are both at the age where they can appreciate a good joke or pun. Some of their favorites have to do with animals. And with my recently shared kids summer book tower printable and my own summer reading list, you could say that I’m in a book mood. Which is why I created these purr-fectly punny animal bookmarks!
One of my all time favorite crafting “tools” is my personal laminator. I use it all the time for a variety of projects. It’s a great way to make your printables last a little longer. And bookmarks are one of those things that tend to get bent. So while you can definitely print these punny animal bookmarks out and use them without lamination, I highly recommend looking into a personal laminator. I promise, you’ll thank me later. *wink*
Supplies Needed for Bookmarks

How to Make Your Animal Bookmarks
First, download the bookmark printable. Then load your printer with white card stock. (You can use regular printer paper if that’s all you have but card stock will last longer.)
Using a paper trimmer or scissors, cut the bookmarks down to size. You can either cut inside the black border lines so you don’t get the border, or trim around the border so you can see them.
Next, run your bookmarks through your personal laminator. I was able to put 5 bookmarks, or one page worth, inside one laminator sleeve. Don’t place them too close to each other, otherwise you won’t have space to cut around the bookmarks.

Then, trim your bookmarks down using a paper trimmer or scissors. I prefer to leave a border around the bookmarks. This prevents separation of the lamination sleeves which can happen if you cut too close to the edges of the bookmark.
Last, grab a book and keep your bookmark close by to save your page.
