Unicorns never seem to go out of style when it comes to little girl birthday party themes. My oldest had a unicorn birthday party in 2019. Five years later, my other daughter wanted to have one as well. Rather than repeat the activities from the first party, we chose some new games.

One that she was especially excited to play was a unicorn themed “Don’t Eat Pete”. But rather than calling the unicorn “Pete”, we named her “Petunia”. All the little girls at my daughter’s party loved this game and though Petunia was very cute.

How to Play “Don’t Eat Pete”

The rules to this game are simple. First, pick a small food item to be placed on the game board. It can be cereal, candy, crackers, etc. (We used pastel M&Ms since it fit the theme and was close to Easter.) Just pick something that isn’t bigger than the squares.

Next, choose someone to go out of the room. Another person silently chooses one picture on the game board by pointing. This is “Pete”. When everyone has seen the picture, put a piece of food on each square and then call the person back into the room.

One by one, this person picks a square to eat the food off of. When they pick the square that is “Pete”, everyone yells: “Don’t eat Pete!”. Or in the case of this version: “Don’t eat Petunia!” At this point, they can take the rest of the food from the remaining squares.

Repeat as many times as you want!

Best Tips for Making Your Printables Last Longer

One of my favorite craft “tools” is my personal laminator. It’s perfect for printables that I want to be able to reuse, which saves me money! Especially for printables that are done in color, such as BINGO cards.

On top of laminating, I like to use cardstock to give extra strength and durability to my printable projects. I’ve included links below to the laminator, laminating sheets and cardstock I use:
