As the temperature cools and we get a break from the heat of the summer, we need to stock up on everything we will need for the upcoming season. And with two kids in school and a toddler at home, I am always doing my best to keep everyone well and happy. But as anyone knows, the winter season sometimes still sneaks through all our best laid plans. That’s why stocking up on Emergen-C®, Dial® and Kleenex® as a great way to be prepared for the season ahead.
I’ve always considered myself a wellness conscious person and I’ve tried to instill that in my family as well. I’m sharing the following tips with you so you can feel more empowered by doing a few basic things to keep your family supported now (and every season in between).
Get Your Vitamins
One of the best ways to make sure your body is getting what it needs is to take daily vitamins. Multi-vitamins are a great start, but you should consider an additional supplement to support your immune system. I love Emergen-C® because they are packed with Vitamin C, plus other key antioxidants and B vitamins to support my energy naturally.* (Heaven knows I need that!)

I picked up some Emergen-C® from Smith’s, part of the Kroger Family of Stores, as part of my annual stock up for the season ahead. They have a lot of flavors to choose from but my favorite flavor is the raspberry which is flavored with real fruit flavors, natural sweeteners and is caffeine free. I just mix it up first thing in the morning and drink it while my kids are eating their breakfast.

Wash That Bacteria Away
To try and limit the amount of bacteria in our home, each of our kids is required to wash their hands after walking in the door. This is a routine we’ve maintained to help limit the bacteria in our home.

We love using foaming soap in our house, specifically Dial Complete® Foaming Hand Wash. We love that it’s antibacterial and kills 99.99% of bacteria encountered in household settings! The foam lathers up nicely and leaves our hands feeling clean. Because our whole family uses it, we like to stick with a refreshing scent like Spring Water, however, there are other scents to choose from at Smith’s. If you stock up right now at Kroger and Kroger banner stores, you can save $1.50 on any TWO (2) Dial Complete® Foaming Hand Washes. Excludes trial & travel size. Begins 12/1/19 for limited time only.

Eliminate the Spreading of Germs
Odds are, someone in your family is going to get sick at least once during the winter season. When someone in our family gets sick, they get their own box of tissues to keep by them and use. This is a great way to help stop the spreading of germs to other family members. I learned a long time ago that buying tissues that don’t fall apart after one blow is essential, especially when you have kids who are still learning how to blow without making a mess.

We use Kleenex® brand tissues because they are up for the challenge, plus we find them to be softer on a sore nose. The Kleenex® Soothing Lotion™ Facial Tissues have aloe and vitamin E and are perfect for sensitive noses (both mine and my kids). I like that Smith’s offers Kleenex with different qualities so I can choose the type of tissues that are best for my family. For a limited time, holiday designs are available on Kleenex®. You can save on Kleenex® brand products when you stock up too!

*MOM HACK*
One of the worst things about this time of year is cleaning up after the tissues. When a family member is sneezing, I give them a grocery sack to put all their used tissues in. This way, they don’t end up on the floor, the couch, the bed, or anywhere else they shouldn’t be. You minimize the spread of germs when you contain the tissues to one area!
Keeping your up with your family’s wellness doesn’t necessarily mean making huge changes. By implementing even one of the tips I shared above, you are on your way to being more prepared for this time of year.

What are some of your favorite hacks for winter wellness?

You can tape an empty Kleenex box to a full one. After you use one just put it in the empty box.
That’s a great idea Penny! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
