Seeing all the beautiful flowers popping up in my neighborhood is one of my favorite parts of springtime. After months of gray, the flowers quickly brighten my days. I know I’m not the only one who enjoys this, as my kids also love watching small green shoots turn into flowers of all different shapes and sizes.
Spring seems especially wonderful from a small child’s perspective which is why I wanted to create a simple spring flowers color scavenger hunt. My kindergartner had fun carrying around her little clipboard and dry erase marker on our walk around the neighborhood. She pointed out different flowers, marking them off as we went.

This spring flowers scavenger hunt sounds like a blast! I remember doing something similar with my niece. It’s a great way to get kids excited about nature. Did your kindergartner find any super rare flowers? And how did you keep track of all the colors? 😜
I totally agree about this scavenger hunt getting kids excited about nature! My daughter and I walked around our neighborhood for our hunt and some of their yards had so many flowers. I don’t remember finding anything rare, but she was surprised that we found flowers in every color. To keep track of the colors we saw, I laminated the scavenger hunt printable and gave her a dry erase marker so she could cross off each color as she found it. Of course, we found more than one flower in each color and when that happened, I told her she could put a little tally mark in the box.
